I’ve come to realize that not everything is meant to be understood. Sometimes there is simply nothing to understand.
We often believe that every painful experience, every sudden change, or every disappointing action must have a hidden reason waiting to be uncovered. So we replay conversations, analyze every detail, and search endlessly for an explanation. We convince ourselves that if we think hard enough, we’ll eventually find the answer.
But some situations have no deeper meaning. Some people act inconsistently. Some relationships end without closure. Some events are the result of chance, misunderstanding, or decisions that only the other person truly understands.
In those moments, the endless search for answers becomes a trap. Instead of bringing clarity, it drains our time, energy, and peace of mind. We become prisoners of questions that may never have satisfying answers.
There is wisdom in recognizing when understanding is no longer possible. Acceptance is not giving up; it is choosing to stop investing your life in a mystery that may never be solved.
Sometimes the healthiest response is simply to say, “I may never know why—and that’s okay.” Life moves forward, with or without complete explanations.
